The main restaurant which overlooks the River Nith caters for a wide spectrum of tastes and uses local produce whenever possible.

The popular restaurant is well known throughout the area for it's extensive menu and high quality cuisine, in particular the Prime Scotch Beef Chargrilled Steaks and Megasteaks which are at very affordable prices.

A full traditional Scottish Breakfast is also served in the restaurant each day up until 10.00 am, allowing residents to make a leisurely start to their days activities.

the Front Lounge
The front lounge with it's huge traditional open fireplace signifies the type of welcome you can expect to receive from this quaint, friendly country hotel.

The public Bar is an ideal location to meet some of the local villagers. Visitors will note that the walls are adorned with memorabilia , including that from Billy Houliston former Queen of the South & Scotland football International who owned the Hotel prior to his Son Keith who now runs the Nith with his wife Joan.

The splendid showcase in the bar also contains an England International football cap once owned by Paul Gasgoine, Gazza is no stranger to the hotel and the area surrounding Glencaple as Jim Black noted during a visit to the hotel to prepare an article for the Daily Express.

Dishes from the menu Accommodation
To start with you could select a traditional Home-Made soup, Nith Pate served with toast and a Cumberland sauce, or why not try our Haggis Bites (Balls of Haggis coated in fine breadcrumbs and served with a Whisky Sauce.
For main meals, you can choose from traditional fayre , Salads, Fish Dishes, Chicken & Duck and Pasta Dishes, our prime Scotch Beef Chargrilled Steaks and megastealks are renowned throughout the area and the number of local diners testifies to the quality of the food.

You could select from Medallions of Pork smothered in a pepper sauce, Prime Roast Duck, served with a honey and orange sauce, whilst for the seriously hungry a 24oz Scotch Rump Steak will satisfy even the most ravenous.

Hot and cold sweets ranging from a light fruit cheesecake to sticky toffee pudding compliment the meals and provide a perfect finish to a great meal at the Nith. Tea and Specialty coffees are always available.
