Fishing is very popular in the Dumfries area and there are plenty
of lochs and rivers to choose from.
Rod Fishing off the Quay - End is permitted, which is right
outside the hotel. You are most likely to catch flounders or
eels, or why not have a shot at flounder tramping in the River
Nith.
If you prefer, you can sit back and relax in the comfortable
surroundings of the Nith Hotel whilst watching the local men
Haaf Netting for Salmon. |

There is a wide range of historical
buildings and attractions in the area. Dumfries is steeped
in history, so why not use your imagination and step back in
time to discover how life used to be.
